As Indonesia accelerates its transformation towards Industry 4.0, Predictive Maintenance has emerged as a strategic capability for boosting industrial performance and minimizing downtime. In support of this momentum, DARSI supported Swiss German University’s Industrial Engineering Department, in collaboration with PIDI 4.0, PT Andal Wahana Sinergi (AWASIN), and Techsource Systems, hosted a Predictive Maintenance Workshop on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at the Indonesia Digital Industry 4.0 Center (PIDI 4.0) in Jakarta.
Opening Remarks & Attendees
The event began with opening remarks by Mr. Muhammad Mukhlis Afriyanto, ST., ME., MSE, Account Representative of PIDI 4.0. It was attended by 30+ professionals from leading companies such as Pertamina, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia, Suzuki Indomobil Indonesia, East Kalimantan Methanol, United Tractors Pandu Engineering (PATRIA), and others—highlighting the industry’s growing interest in predictive technologies.
Technical Sessions & Live Demonstrations
The workshop featured six expert speakers representing academia and industry:

Session Highlights
- Session 1:
Dr. Aditya T. Pratama introduced the fundamentals of maintenance management, including current methods and emerging trends in equipment maintenance technologies. - Session 2:
Ms. Rasyiqah and Mr. Bambang led an interactive hands-on session using MATLAB for predictive analytics. Participants explored how to utilize predictive models using licensed tools provided specifically for the workshop. - Session 3:
Ir. Triarti Saraswati focused on human factors in maintenance, covering how human error, outdated tools, and fatigue contribute to maintenance failures—and how to prevent them. - Session 4:
Dr. Tanika D. Sofianti delivered a session on “Maintenance Inventory Control Towards Industry 4.0”, emphasizing the role of spare parts inventory management in achieving efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible maintenance systems. - Final Session:
Mr. Livano Yudhistira of PT AWASIN closed the day with live demos of predictive maintenance tools and shared economic and operational benefits gained from their real-world implementation.
Strengthening Collaboration for Industry 4.0
This workshop was a part of SGU Industrial Engineering’s community service initiative, designed to raise awareness and provide actionable strategies for implementing predictive maintenance in industry.
It also marked another milestone in the multi-stakeholder collaboration between academia, industry, and government. The event reinforced the role of “Making Indonesia 4.0” as a national effort to enhance digital readiness and global competitiveness.
