As part of our continuous commitment to shaping the future of industrial innovation and education, Dr. Tanika D. Sofianti, Founder of Dian Arsa Inovasi (DARSI) and Associate Professor of Industrial Engineering at Swiss German University, was honored to speak at the Digital Nations Summit 2024.

The summit, organized by KOMINFO in collaboration with GSMA, served as a national platform to explore the future of digital transformation across key sectors. Held at the Sapta Pesona Building in Jakarta, the event attracted leaders and innovators from both public and private sectors.

Panel Discussion: Navigating the Digital Transformation of Manufacturing

Dr. Tanika was featured as a panelist in the session titled:
“Opportunities and Challenges for Digital Transformation in Manufacturing”

She joined distinguished speakers:

  • Mr. Slamet Riyanto – Team Leader, P3DN & Making Indonesia 4.0, Ministry of Industry

Moderated by Dr. Virdiansyah Permana, Head of Technology at the Indonesia Industrial Digital Transformation Council (WANTRII), the discussion provided a comprehensive view of how emerging technologies—such as Artificial Intelligence, Industrial IoT, Big Data Analytics, and Immersive Technologies (AR/VR/MR)—are driving innovation across Indonesia’s manufacturing sector.

Advancing Industrial Engineering for Industry 4.0

During the session, Dr. Tanika also emphasized the proactive role of academic institutions, particularly the Industrial Engineering – Smart Industry program at Swiss German University. She shared how the program has evolved to meet Industry 4.0 workforce demands through:

  • Curriculum modernization aligned with digital transformation
  • Capacity building for lecturers in emerging technologies
  • Industry collaboration through guest lectures and joint research
  • Development of new teaching tools incorporating sensors, IoT, data analytics, and immersive technology

Her insights highlighted how academic institutions can become enablers of transformation by not only preparing future talent but also by actively contributing to the industrial innovation ecosystem.
